February 2011

Our third biggest blizzard of all time hit us on the first day of February. We had over 20 inches of show! Cathy put out a beach chair before the snow began to fly and you can see where it ended up after the snow stopped falling. It was a lot of work digging out, even with a plow to clear the drive. Later in the day, Sycamore sent out the big snow thrower to clear the cul-de-sac. WOW!

The next day, Joe headed for Wisconsin to pick up a new project boat. Crazy, huh? It's a 1979 Glastron GT-150, the same type of boat that James Bond jumped in the movie "Live and Let Die".You can follow the progress at
Joe's Glastron GT-150 Blog.

Dani and the blowing team participated in the Sectional meet. Even though they didn't quite qualify for state, They did have one girl (Haley) qualify as an individual.

Joe went to Wisconsin and bought another GT-150. This one is in really bad shape, but there are lots of parts and a trailer. Maybe Joe should stay away from Wisconsin.

Here are some of the bowlers in Rockford to cheer Haley on at the State Bowling Finals

Joe and Dani made a fun day trip to Chicago to go to the Chicago Auto Show We saw some really nice cars and rode in the Jeep test track. After we saw all of the cars, we walked over to China Town for a great lunch and some browsing in the shops. Then we relaxed on the train going home.

Dani's latest Sinfonia was this month as well. Great concert. In the last two shots, Dani is seen with some of the other performers.

The next day, Joe and Cathy headed to Texas to visit relatives and go to the Int'l ATC Hockey Tournament. Click on the picture to check out the trip. (click on the picture)
